Electrical Technician

Full Job Description
Repairs electrical systems on various devices and products. They typically collaborate with electrical engineers to view and follow design plans to build or repair a product’s electrical system. Electrical technicians may draw their own diagrams to construct and repair products and request approval from electrical engineers once the final project is complete.
Responsibilities
- Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with maintenance mechanics and recommends course of action
- Diagnoses, repairs, and/or replaces faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards
- Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
- Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings
- Cross-trained to perform mechanical maintenance.
- Uses and drives forklift
- Performs other building maintenance duties such as plumbing and carpentry
- Performs daily housekeeping duties to keep work area clean and removes safety hazards
- Performs other duties as required

Qualifications
- Must have physical stamina to move around all day. Sometimes they work at great heights and sometimes in cramped spaces. They must have the physical fitness to meet the demands of the job.
- Must have physical strength to lift weigh up to 50 pounds or more. It’s important to be strong enough to lift and move this equipment.
- Must have excellent color vision. Because electrical wiring is color coded.
- Possesed a troubleshooting Skills. To find, diagnose, and repair problems.
- Must be Industry Certified
